A future full of hospitality
Terneuzen Hotels; two hotels under one name. Together, they welcome 75,000 guests per year. “This makes us a leader in the region. Our greatest strength lies in our shared values. Two hotels that seamlessly complement each other with modern facilities, personalized service, and a central location,” says Tina Jackson, General Manager of Terneuzen Hotels. She is working hard on the transformation of two city hotels into a regional hospitality concept.
“We are the experts, and despite our down-to-earth Zeeland roots, now is the time to showcase our expertise.”
ZEEUW DUTCHNESS
“We have years of experience in the hospitality world and are now using that experience to take a different approach with our hotels. As the largest and oldest hotels in the region, we fulfill a special role. We are the experts, and despite our down-to-earth Zeeland roots, now is the time to showcase our expertise.”
Tina enthusiastically discusses her regional vision for hospitality. As a hospitality entrepreneur in this region, we offer much more than just overnight stays. We view Terneuzen Hotels as a complete hospitality concept with comfortable hotel rooms, modern meeting facilities, a culinary restaurant, and excellent bars. We also see it as a partner for companies and event organizers. In all these areas, we strive for the highest quality. This means we're constantly evolving. We're investing heavily in modernizing our hotels, from digitization to redesigning the rooms and rebranding our restaurant. We're also promoting the local area with our online and offline campaigns.
MODERNIZING FACILITIES
The hotel rooms at the City Hotel and the Churchill Hotel met all the comfort standards of a good hotel. Nevertheless, Tina opted for renovation. At Terneuzen Hotels, we serve two types of guests: tourists and business guests. To offer both groups a unique and suitable experience, we've begun a transformation into modern hotel locations with all the modern comfort standards for both long and short stays. Think of hotel rooms with a separate living room and kitchenette, or a shared kitchen for our long-stay guests. Furthermore, the rooms simply have to look good, so we've replaced all the furniture. Sustainability naturally plays a major role in this. I want future generations to be able to enjoy these hotel rooms as well. That's why we've been certified by the Green Key sustainability label for several years now, specifically for socially responsible and sustainable entrepreneurship in the hospitality sector.
RESTAURANT
The restaurant at the Churchill Hotel has also undergone a makeover. The former Rosaura restaurant has been rebranded as Taste. A local restaurant with excellent value, based on fresh regional Zeeland produce. Both the interior and the menu have been updated. "As a restaurant, Taste is the perfect complement to our hotels. Our hotel guests can enjoy a sophisticated evening in a beautiful atmosphere at a unique location.
But Taste also plays an important role for our business and local guests; from business lunches to romantic dinners with stunning views. We offer it all in our renovated restaurant. And we also have big plans for our terrace on the Scheldt; we're going to make it a truly atmospheric spot. This way, we want to be visible and accessible to passersby on the dike and to Terneuzen locals. This way, we'll truly become a waterfront hotspot for lunch, drinks, and dinner," laughs Tina proudly. "To complement Taste and take our diverse target audiences into account, we've chosen to create a homey restaurant in the City Hotel, offering dishes that also offer excellent value and appeal to a wide audience." MEETINGS AT A HIGH LEVEL
In addition to the rooms and the restaurant, the meeting facilities at the Churchill Hotel have also undergone a major upgrade. "We have several rooms that can be flexibly configured. We've also thoroughly renovated these spaces, providing them with a new interior and modern audiovisual equipment. Combined with lunch or dinner at Taste restaurant, we offer our business guests the ultimate meeting location."
REGIONAL FUNCTION
Tina's vision of hospitality extends beyond the hotel facilities. Tina grew up in the Terneuzen region, and that's why she's passionate about supporting it. "Besides me, many true Terneuzen residents work in our hotels. No one knows better about the typical local customs and the interesting places in the area, which offer our guests a special experience. We see it as our duty to share this knowledge and experience with our guests and other relevant partners. I believe in the power of collaboration.
I see a lot being done in our region; the municipality is working We're working hard with residents and entrepreneurs on a new city center. The government and businesses are collaborating to keep the industry and business parks up to date, and various event organizers are making it attractive to both locals and tourists. Economically, our area will receive a tremendous boost from the Nieuwe Sluis (New Lock). In short, there are many ambitious plans, and I feel Terneuzen Hotels can play a crucial role in them. I'm eager to take on the role of hospitality leader in our region. I'd like to reiterate that I believe in the power of collaboration and will certainly take responsibility for that in the coming period.
If it were up to me, Terneuzen Hotels would transform into the hospitality concept for our region; a true place to go.
