2. Christmas markets & winter shopping

Visit cosy Zeeland Christmas markets in the area or go shopping in the centre of Terneuzen, where the shops are festively lit.

On 13 December, Axel is transformed into a charming winter wonderland. The streets are filled with stalls selling Christmas gifts, delicacies and hot drinks. It is one of the largest and most enjoyable winter events in Zeeland. And if you're in the mood for extra atmosphere, head to the marquee to enjoy music and maybe even a dance.

On 21 December, the Houtmarkt in Hulst is transformed into a warm, cosy Christmas spot. Among the illuminated stalls, you can enjoy mulled wine, winter delicacies and the cosiness of fire pits. Music plays from the stage and the fun activities create a real party atmosphere. It's the perfect place to get into the Christmas spirit.

3. Day trip to Ghent or Bruges

Just a short drive away, you will find two of Europe's most beautiful winter cities. You can also visit the Christmas markets in Ghent or Bruges. In Ghent, the Winter Festivities run from 4 December to 31 December, and in Bruges from 21 November to 4 January.
